A&K M1873 "Mares Leg" Lever Action Green Gas Airsoft Rifle, Silver

Many gun manufacturers have decided to get into the airsoft market. But even if a gun manufacturer makes dependable real-life firearms and has legendary craftsmanship, they rarely manage to nail their airsoft replicas. A&K is an exception to the rule here.

In general, A&K makes fantastic airsoft weapons, and their M1873 “Mare’s Leg” replica is an ideal example.

The Mare’s Leg is a gun with a rather rustic, old design. But that’s because the original was manufactured a long time ago. In this respect, the Mare’s Leg does a fantastic job of encapsulating the original’s design, feel, and overall weight. Just holding the weapon feels realistic.

It's a lever-action weapon, just like the original. The magazine is built into the gun’s side and can hold as many as 25 rounds.

Don’t expect a modern, cutting-edge gun, though. This model has been designed to replicate the original’s look and feel as best as possible. This means less-than-cutting-edge front and rear sights and a few other (purposeful) downsides.

Still, this is weapon packs quite a punch for an old-timer (or at least for an old-timer airsoft replica). Expect 360-390 FPS of muzzle velocity, which isn’t minor, even compared to some modern airsoft rifles.

You also get 630mm in length and 1690g in weight airsoft weapon with an adjustable hop up. Unlike most airsoft products on the market, the Mare’s Leg isn’t battery-powered. Instead, it uses green gas or propane.

There aren’t multiple firing mode options, either, given that the airsoft version of the Mare’s Leg is trying to faithfully replicate the original. This is a single-shot weapon with lever action.
